It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our founder
Harry R. Wright
On Thursday, November 3, 2011, Harry died of a sudden heart attack.
He was an inspiration to all who knew him and a tremendous resource for
new and 'seasoned' members of the organization..
Clearly the rhododenron world will miss this kind and gentle man!

The North Island Rhododendron Society was established by Harry Wright in October 1984.
It is affiliated with the American Rhododendron Society, and is one of seven chapters in British Columbia, including four others on Vancouver Island and two more in the lower mainland.

Our chapter is based in the beautiful Comox Valley and serves surrounding communities of
northern Vancouver Island.  All members and guests are welcome to join our monthly meetings in Comox.
We have various speakers offering informative talks, slide shows
and demonstrations. Our meetings are free of admission and include free refreshments.  
During  the summer months, we take part in excursions, garden tours, and plant sales.
 

Our newsletter is packed with news, tips and information on our activities.  Visitors are welcome
to attend our monthly meetings anytime, so please give one of our members a call.
We will be happy to give you more information.  

Doors open at 7 pm with meetings beginning at 7:30 pm
on the second Tuesday of each month
(except May thru Aug.) at the United Church in Comox.
